Additional Description:
Angelica Yamada has been a local San Diego upright and electric bassist for over a decade playing music from jazz to classical pieces to Middle Eastern musics. The past few years Ms. Yamada has been studying various musical techniques and styles at UCSD under the direction of Mark Dresser and Kamau Kenyatta and in doing so, will be presenting a multi genre senior recital. This recital is in dedication to my mother as well as in memory of close figures in my life that have recently passed away during my time at UCSD. I would not be the person that I am today without acknowledging those that have fallen before me: Leo, Izzy, Max Zape, and Iris.
