As the culminating work of his doctoral creative project at UC San Diego, Boris Acosta-Jaramillo presents Emanations — a fully improvised concert featuring some of the most adventurous voices in contemporary music. Rooted in the spirit of jazz but unbound by tradition, the ensemble navigates uncharted sonic territory in real time, guided by deep listening, collective trust, and a shared commitment to discovery. A year in the making, this project began in the studio in 2025 and tonight marks its arrival on the stage — a rare opportunity to experience live what will soon be heard on the forthcoming album Emanations, due for release later this year. Featuring live visual art by Mochilla.
