On May 17, 2026 (Sunday), The Arcades will be presented at the Conrad Prebys Music Center at UC San Diego. Our goal is to fill the performances spaces at CPMC for a marathon concert, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. We are soliciting proposals from all musicians and all genres of music. We strongly encourage all undergraduates to apply and proposals including original work are especially welcome. We also welcome those who wish to present electronic music, deliver a scholarly paper, create a sound installation, or any alternative form of music presentation. We want everyone to be represented! 

The Arcades is a student-run music festival at UC San Diego that highlights the diverse musical talent found across campus. Supported by the Department of Music, the festival is organized entirely by students and creates space for performers of all backgrounds. The festival is meant not just for music majors but for all students to share their work in a live setting. 

Described as a “collage of music,” The Arcades spans a wide range of genres, selecting artists for their original works and shaping each performance space around their sound. From grunge and alternative bands in the courtyard to intimate singer-songwriter sets, chamber ensembles, 

and electronic performances, the festival transforms the Conrad Prebys Music Center into a dynamic, multi-venue experience. 

Unlike other campus events that bring in outside acts, The Arcades focuses on homegrown talent, connecting UC San Diego artists with the broader San Diego community. The Arcades: After Hours is an extension of The Arcades music festival, created in collaboration with DVC (Deejays and Vinylphiles Club). Beginning at 8 PM, this late-night event shifts the focus to DJ culture, featuring a lineup of student DJs in a high-energy, immersive setting. 

Inspired by Boiler Room–style performances, After Hours places the DJ at the center of the space, creating a 360-degree environment that encourages movement, interaction, and connection. The intimate setting allows the music to take priority, fostering an atmosphere where audiences can engage directly with the sound and the energy of the crowd. 

Like the festival itself, After Hours is entirely student-run and highlights undergraduate talent at UC San Diego. With a focus on electronic and hip-hop sounds, the event creates space for DJs and genres that are often underrepresented on campus. Designed as a space to dance, socialize, and experience music collectively, The Arcades: After Hours invites attendees to end the night on a high note.
