These three pieces all explore physical and psychoacoustic phenomena through setting the clarinet against static and drifting oscillators in the space. While the setup is pretty minimal, the effects quickly become highly complex, blurring the boundaries of pitch, harmony, and rhythm. The performance space itself also becomes a key part of the music. Burr's intention is to match focused exploration of the acoustics with more conventional notions of harmony and voice leading to see what happens. The work draws in part on his experiences working with Alvin Lucier on his music and is dedicated to his memory.

This concert features traditional seating with quiet and contemplative sounds; however, some of the more unusual acoustic effects can be disorienting.
