The UC San Diego Wind Ensemble performs diverse repertoire for woodwinds, brass, and percussion, and is comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and community members. The ensemble’s members participate in a number of musical activities within and beyond the Department of Music and boast a variety of academic majors across the arts, humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields.

This quarter’s concert demonstrates the wind ensemble’s diverse repertoire, from the familiar military band march-fantasy "Esprit de Corps," to the newly composed Rhapsody by Kazakhstan-born, Hong Kong-American composer, Meilina Tsui. Also featured on the concert is our very own DMA vocal performance candidate, emily barger, as soprano soloist, presenting two beloved African-American spirituals accompanied by chamber winds.
