Limit Duo | music from the 20th/21st century for quarter-tone pianos.
 

Jack Dettling is a keyboard player, composer, and curator who resides in Los Angeles. Their interests include lesser-played Baroque repertoire,
experimental works of the 20th-century, player pianos, analog synthesizers, historical and contemporary tuning systems, the intersection of ancient and
modern literatures. They approach the piano with an acknowledgment of the complexity of its history, with a desire to extend the common practice
forward and backward. They perform in living rooms, in galleries, in concert halls. They are the founder and artistic director of beauty salon, a space for intermedia installation and performance in Los Angeles. They hold degrees in piano performance and literature from Mannes College/The New School,
contemporary piano performance from Manhattan School of Music, and piano performance and composition from CalArts, where they teach currently.

Jesse Reyes is an artist whose work as a pianist, composer and piano technician is highly integrated. The Piano, materially, conceptually,
emotionally, or otherwise, is often at the core of his practice. He is driven by various emotional, poetic, and conceptual ideas. These ideas mostly result in text pieces: sometimes vague contemplations, other times performable works, and often in some kind of gray area. His process is
partially an effort of understanding which extends to the large portion of his work that is written for or by specific people. He often tries to move the
finality of conception out of reach from the performer and/or himself to encourage their and his positions to be one of someone who experiences,
as opposed to one of someone who only communicates. He received his degree in performance and composition from the California Institute of the
Arts.
